Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings Limited own, and jointly own through joint venture arrangements, one of the youngest fleets of modern mid to large sized bulkcarriers and tankers and small to mid-sized LPG carriers in the world. With an average age of around two years, our fleet is employed on timecharter to major charterers representing some of the leading companies in global commodity and raw material transportation.
Combining a presence in the bulkcarrier, tanker and LPG markets, our current fleet will be supplemented by additional vessels in all these sectors, which are currently being constructed at leading shipyards in China and Japan and which will be integrated into the fleet between now and 2012.
Amongst our Group's key strengths, the following are particularly relevant:
• A young and modern fleet with an ongoing newbuilding programme.
• A diverse fleet of bulkcarriers, tankers and LPG carriers.
• Long standing relationships with charterers, shipyards and shipping related organisations.
• Stable cash flow and strong balance sheet for growth.
• Experienced management and operating systems with a track record spanning half a century.
Our Group is committed to growing our business through maximizing earnings via the prudent management of our timecharter portfolio and realizing gains from vessel disposals as and when our experienced management team identify suitable opportunities. We will maintain our ability to provide customers with a diverse range of maritime transport solutions, both through the mix of vessel types and sizes in our fleet and through a flexible approach to our commercial partnerships with our clients, whether through joint venture ownership, flexible charter periods and/or profit sharing opportunities.
Whilst the integration of our newbuilding fleet provides committed growth, the further expansion of our Group will include developing further opportunities at established shipyards, utilizing our forty years experience in shipbuilding, whilst our commitment to accessing the growing cargo demand for raw materials in China will see the Group expand our presence in China with experienced shipping personnel based in China.
